55 years of LOVE. 42 days of MARRIAGE.

After a few hours of blog crawling,  I stumbled on a photo that almost made me cry.

Absolutely touching.

They've met in 1950, became lovers in 1952, moved in together in 1953 (Valentines day).

It was half a century of LOVE and FRIENDSHIP when they married on June 16, 2008.

Phyllis and Del

after a month of the same year, Del died.

She died on the 27th of August 2008. contented. cause she got to see the day.

Perhaps for them, half a century of waiting is well worth a MONTH of MARRIAGE.

Phyllis Ann Lyon (born November 10, 1924)
Dorothy Louise Taliaferro "Del" Martin (May 5, 1921 – August 27, 2008)

  1. i have to disagree. for me, they've long been married thru their commitment to each other. the month of marriage is just making their love known to the world. :)

  6. I like those ideas. Someone seriously needs to defends our rights. I imagine what a tough battle that would be, but we have to start somewhere. :)
